Meenmutty Waterfall: Meenmutty lies in a location 29 kms from Kalpetta, it is the biggest among other waterfalls in the state with a height of 300m and also the most chilling sight in wayanad. The reason behind the name meenmutty is the concept that fishes gets blocked here. Meen means Fish and Mutty means Blocked in Malayalam which is the native language of Kerala.

The most thrilling part about reaching meenmutty is that you will have to trek a two kilometers distance through the forest. Which all the adventure tourists would love doing. And once you reach the waterfalls, it is a mesmerizing sight.

Peppara wildlife sanctuary The Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 53 sq. km. on the Western Ghats and was established in 1938.peppara wildlife sanctuary famous for think forest ,clear water bodies hilly regions give good option for trekking and adventure lovers.

Main attractions of this sanctuary are lion-tailed macaque,Asian elephant, leopard, sambar,malabar Grey Hornbill, Whitebellied Treepie, Small Sunbird, etc.The Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary constitutes the catchments of the Peppara Dam on the Karamana River near Thiruvananthapuram, India.

The Peppara Dam was commissioned in 1983 to augment the drinking water supply to Thiruvananthapuram city and suburban areas. The Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on Thiruvanthapuram-Ponmudi Road, about 50 km northeast of Thiruvananthapuram.

Kallar Kallar situated on the way to Ponmudi, Kallar is one of the famous picnic spots in the state of Kerala. This place gets its name from the popular Kallar River. The name of this place Kallar is the combination of two Malayalam words i.e. Kallu means stone and Aru means River. It is located 50 KM away from the capital city Thiruvananthapuram and is an ideal location for picnickers. Basically, this place is a small town which is situated on route to the popular hill station Ponmudi. It is famous for Kallar River which is known for its spectacular beauty and round – shaped boulders and pebbles.

Here, the tourists can witness the eye – catching beauty of Kallar River, enjoy trekking and angling, see the rare species of birds, spend some quality time in the lush green surrounding and visit the nearby hill station Ponmudi.

Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve The Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve was Established in 2001 and includes 3,500.36 km2 (1,351.50 sq mi) of which 1672.36 km² is in Tamilnadu and vast 1828 km² is in kerala .

Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve In 1999 cospect for stablish Biosphere Reserve started in Agasthyamalai . The Tamil Nadu Forest Department was all support for the suggestion and the two sides agreed to commission the Tropical Botanical Garden and Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram, to prepare a detailed report on the proposal. The proposed biosphere reserve is a natural unit of mountain system at the southern end of the peninsula, cut off from the rest of the Western Ghats by a narrow pass known as the Aryankavu Pass or the Shencotta Pass. It has the largest tract of untouched rain forests in peninsular India. This area fall within kerala and Tamilnadu cover parts of Neyyar, Peppara and Shenduruny wildlife sanctuaries and Kalakkad-Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve . It is fairly undisturbed and extends to nearly 1,000 sq. km. The buffer zone lies within the wildlife sanctuaries and the tiger reserve and occupies an area of approximately 1,500 sq. km.Core Zone, Buffer Zone and Transition Zone are main sub divisions of biosphere.

Koyikkal Palace Koyikkal Palace is an important heritage attraction in Kerala located nearly 18 kilometers away from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city. This palace, a double-storey building is now a folklore and numismatics museum. Built in the 17th century, this palace was the residence of the famous Umayamma Rani who was the regent of Venad. She ruled the kingdom from 1677 to 1684. Later this residential palace was converted to a great museum that houses many interesting objects.
